Heavy on Fashion:  How did Forever Brilliant come to be? 

Steve Larkin: After many years of research and development Charles & Colvard was able to improve the whiteness, brilliance and luster to create “the worlds most brilliant gem.”

Heavy on Fashion: What makes Forever Brilliant different from other stones on the market?

Steve Larkin: There are three (3) methods for distinguishing moissanite:

- Test using the Tester Model 590 or other testing devised used to distinguish moissanite.

- Determine if doubling of facet junctions is visible through magnification.

- Look for needle-like or micro-pipe type inclusions that typically are perpendicular to the table facet and are visible only under magnification.

Forever Brilliant has more brilliance, fire and luster than a diamond and is harder than sapphires, emeralds and rubies.

Heavy on Fashion:  What is the Forever Brilliant challenge? 

Steve Larkin: The Forever Brilliant Challenge is a test of the eye to see if you can tell the difference between a moissanite gemstone and a diamond.

Heavy on Fashion:  Many people do not know the difference between Cubic Zurconia and Moissanite gem stone, please explain the difference to all my fashion divas and gurus.

Steve Larkin: Cubic Zurconia is glass, not a gemstone. Moissanite is an actual gemstone declared so by gemologists. Cubic Zirconia will scratch easily and discolor over time. It does not have the brilliance, fire and luster of Forever Brilliant. Forever Brilliant is hand cut and polished by master gem craftsman. It is a fine jewel set in gold and platinum.

Heavy on Fashion: Will Forever Brilliant be available in colors?

Steve Larkin: No. There are no known situations in which the color of moissanite has been permanently changed. A temporary color change will occur when moissanite is exposed to heat (torch) during jewelry repair techniques. We are working on the ability to color enhance Forever Brilliant in the future.
