Greetings to all my fabulous divas and wise gurus! As we navigate the challenging start of 2025, we cannot ignore the ongoing antics of the current administration. Let's stay focused on our individual and community goals. Today, I want to talk about vision boards!
We all know that vision boards are popular at the beginning of the year, and I used to follow that trend as well. However, I’ve realized that vision boards can be created and revised throughout the year. I see a vision board as a guide to the life I desire. As my goals and aspirations evolve, my vision board should reflect those changes as well.
I have modified my goals several times throughout my life. When I was younger, I dreamed of becoming a professional ballerina and tap dancer. However, during high school and college, my ambition shifted to fashion design. Eventually, I realized that although I couldn’t sew, I could still be part of the fashion industry through journalism.
Now, as a mother and an adult, my goals and vision have transformed once again. I remain committed to journalism and podcasting, but I intend to focus on fashion and various aspects of life. I believe that experience, life lessons, and constant changes shape our progress.
A vision board is a valuable tool for clarifying your mission and purpose. Many people create their boards using poster boards, fun stickers, magazine cutouts, and photos to illustrate their goals for the year. Some also participate in vision board parties to share their creations with their community. I've seen others write affirmations and goals on notecards and place them on a large corkboard with pins. Additionally, some individuals use Pinterest boards or PowerPoint to create digital mood boards for the year.
Over the past two years, I have used the online graphic design platform Canva to create my vision boards, as I find it more convenient. This allows me to print my board to display in my home and take it with me as a reminder to stay on track. I can also easily update it whenever I achieve a goal or want to add a new one. I view my vision board as a living representation of my goals and aspirations. Depending on your individual objectives and mission, choose the method that works best for you.
I know you might be curious about what my vision board looks like, but I've decided to keep it private. I realized that my vision for my life is something I want to guard closely. I've stopped sharing my goals with everyone.
The purpose of my vision board is twofold: 1) to serve as a visual guide for my goals and mission on this earth, and 2) to connect with people who will positively support and encourage my ambitions. I believe that dreams are essential for a happy life, and allowing just anyone into my vision can be reckless. Protecting my peace and my vision is a vital part of my self-care.

You make progress by implementing ideas."
